Awarded a $5000 SEED grant from University of Auckland to fund a student researcher to develop open-ended laboratories using the Lablet tool developed in-house, new lab report guidelines and rubric for use in the Studio Physics

Getting Students to Master Writing of Code to do Physics (Fall 2016)

Awarded a $5000 SEED grant from University of Auckland to fund a student researcher to develop skeletal Jupyter Notebook tutorials and YouTube videos to integrate computer programming in Studio Physics

Curriculum Development

Project: Developed Curriculum for Physics 120 and 121 at University of Auckland (2016)

Developed all the curriculum for the first and second semester introductory course for physics majors

Project: Multi-generational ”Think Like An Engineer” Course in China (Spring 2016)
Developed 3-day workshop for students to learn engineering with some combined activities with their parents

Project: CRISIS Challenge in Civil Engineering (Fall 2015)
Develop a course resource guide for a real world civil engineering challenge about a hurricane for Duke TIP.

Project: Nuclear Science (Spring 2013)
Proposed and developed a 3-week nuclear science course for Duke TIP which included field trips to the medical physics unit at a local hospital, Duke University’s Particle Accelerator and the Research Reactor at NCSU.  I ended up going to Singapore on an NSF fellowship instead of being able to teach it but other instructors used my notes.
